Eddie Drury - Positive Behaviour Support

I am an NDIS Registered Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, working across the Perth Metro area in the land of the Whadjuk Noongar people. I have eleven years experience in PBS supporting people with disabilities with complex needs and their families.

About Me

I’m a registered social worker and have been working as a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist for the past twelve years. In that time I’ve worked as a clinician, manager and trainer, with some of the largest therapy providers in WA. I am now working as a sole provider.

I am highly passionate about the Positive Behaviour Support approach (PBS). This means:

  • Working together with the person with a disability and their support team to better understand and meet their needs,
  • Focussing first and foremost on improving quality of life, and
  • Ensuring the human rights of people with disabilities are upheld at all times.

In everything I do, I am lead by my personal and professional values. These values are:

  • Acceptance – I accept you as you are.
  • Strengths-based – I focus on what is amazing about you.
  • Constant growth – I push myself to go outside my comfort zone.
  • Innovation – I explore new ways of doing things.
  • Genuine – I work with honesty and authenticity.
  • Connection – I develop strong relationships with everyone I work with.

Services

Clinical Support

  • Direct clinical work is my core business and passion. This often involves supporting people who sometimes engage in behaviours of concern or who may be subject to restrictive practices.
  • I deliver services to people with a range of diagnosis and of all different ages. To reduce travel charges, I deliver services primarily around the Inner Metro Area.
  • I am a NDIS Registered Provider, so I can provide support for Agency Managed participants, as well as self and plan managed.
  • Unfortunately, due to demand, I am not able to accept new referrals at this time.

Quality Assurance Panels

  • I provide consultation support to Implementing Providers, acting as an Independent Behaviour Support Practitioner on Quality Assurance Panels.
  • I have been appointed to the Independent NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner Register, managed by WA Individualised Services (WAIS), and so this service can be funded through WAIS.

Training

  • Over the course of my career, I have designed and delivered dozens of training sessions for organisations on topics including PBS, child protection, safeguarding and the use of restrictive practices.
  • I can tailor different training packages to meet an organisation’s needs.
